Web Midi Api Questions

Hi,

Pardon me if I'm sending my request to the wrong place, I'm very interested
in the Web MIDI API and I have a couple of questions to ask. Don't hesitate
to redirect to the right forum if I'm mistaken.

I've been creating software for some time now, and I'm considering writing
software using Web MIDI.

I'm a little concerned about two things though.

First, the latest Web MIDI API Recommendation that can be found on the W3C
web site is a Working Draft from March 2015. If I'm about to invest my time
and energy in creating software based on Web MIDI, I need to be reassured
that this Recommendation is going to live on, and to be supported by the
browser editors. How are things going?

Secondly, I have some concerns about performance, reliability (timing
accuracy), latency. I know this is not linked to the W3C of course, but I
was wondering if you'd have any pointer for me toward documentation,
reports, or people having played quite a bit with Web MIDI implementations,
in order to assess that Web MIDI can be used to implement musical softwares
aimed to professional musicians / instrumentalists, including those
performing live.

I'd appreciate any input you could provide to me about these two concerns.

Cheers,
Renaud
