This is almost resolved at this point, I've rebased my branch and I'm about
to open a couples PRs for that, and I thing the group agrees with how it's
resolved.

Can I suggest we take some time to review the ordering algorithm, the
processing model, and associated issues ? I feel it's stuff that is
important to get right.
