Chris (W), that is a fair question. Can we split the discussion between whether (which seems to be a yes - there is substantial agreement this would be a good thing ™) and when? We are indeed trying to limit the number of additional features in v1. If the group agrees that this is a good feature but not one that implementors are willing to add yet, we can tag it for v.next.
