https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=17699 Summary: Do not interfere with critical system sounds Product: AudioWG Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Web Audio Processing: Use Cases and Requirements AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org ReportedBy: olivier.thereaux@bbc.co.uk QAContact: public-audio@w3.org CC: cooper@w3.org >From the “Review of Web Audio Processing: Use Cases and Requirements” http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-audio/2012AprJun/0852.html Need a requirement that audio from the Web application not interfere with system sounds (e.g., alerts), which may contain vital information for the user. While it's probably not desirable to pause Web application audio for system sound events, it's also not desirable to have system sounds drowned out by Web application audio. User preferences may be needed to indicate specifically how to handle the situation, but a way for Web application audio to be aware of system sounds will be needed. -- Configure bugmail: https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug.
