Dear Audio Description Community Group members, 2 pieces of news: 1. Timed Text Working Group yesterday published a first Group Draft Note describing the requirements for the Dubbing and Audio description Profile of TTML2, at https://www.w3.org/TR/2022/DNOTE-dapt-reqs-20220510/ which together with an upcoming Recommendation track specification will supersede the previous ADPT<https://w3c.github.io/adpt/> developed here, which only supported audio description. (the eagle-eyed will note that I made some minor editorial tweaks to ADPT the day before yesterday) 1. W3C’s annual get-together will happen this year, 12-16 September 2022, as a “hybrid” meeting with the main in-person hub in Vancouver, and the option for people to join online too. I’ve been asked to say whether we’ll hold a 2-hour group meeting this year, and if so, if there are any preferred days or times. I propose that we do hold a meeting, and in that meeting we look at the status of the audio description and dubbing exchange format and talk about implementations, planned implementations, or any other questions. 2 calls to action for you: Please review the DAPT requirements linked above and give your feedback as indicated in the header material at the top of the document. Any missing requirements, or other suggestions for improvement will be very welcome, and will help us create a better specification. Please let me know if you would attend a meeting at TPAC, and if you would attend in person or remotely, and if you have any constraints on days or times, and if there are any particular agenda topics you would like us to cover.
