Anyone available to fix this critical combobox bug?

Hi All,

I'm looking for someone who could submit a PR to fix a functional bug in the way the combobox filters suggestions after editing text. To avoid the long review cycles like we had with PR 1276, I would like a PR that is careful to make only the changes necessary to fix this one bug:
