Okay, I was able to replicate it, and now it really is fixed.

The only way to correct this is to fire the blur() method on the input if focus is set back to it, which unfortunately leaves you stranded randomly on the page, so setting focus to the toggle button is the only viable option to address this.

When VO is not running the keyboard still appears when selecting a date.

Actually I believe this is now fixed.

With VO running, there is no keyboard appearance after selecting a date.

If this works for you, I’ll push these into the relevant repos tomorrow.

When I am using an iOS device I open the date picker using the button. I select a date by tapping on it and focus goes back to the text field. This results in the soft keyboard appearing. As I am not typing a date I have no need for the keyboard so it should not appear.

Deque’s example does not result in the keyboard appearing on iOS so IMO this would be ok.
The Whatsock example does result in the keyboard appearing so IMO is not acceptable.
