RE: Updated toolbar example with wcag 1.4.13 compliant popup labels

Thank you for prompt return of revised code and the example, Jon. The ARIA-APG meeting has just happened less than 4 hours ago!

In regards to #2, ESC key works well and I am glad to hear that it was fairly easy to implement!

Subject: Updated toolbar example with wcag 1.4.13 compliant popup labels

Link to updated example:
https://raw.githack.com/w3c/aria-practices/issue986-toolbar-button-tooltips/examples/toolbar/toolbar.html

Changes:

  1. Changed references from "tooltip" to "popup label"
  2. Added global ESC key feature to close any popup label, even when focus is outside the toolbar. NOTE: Feature is not a lot of code either, so in this case fairly easy to implement.
