Cancelling today's "automation subgroup" meeting

Hello everyone,

It's not every day that your meeting conflicts with a cosmic event! In
the interest of supporting those who would like to experience the solar
eclipse (myself included), I've cancelled today's "automation subgroup"
meeting
<https://www.w3.org/events/meetings/be4005bd-2e84-43c6-b75c-4210bc82d663/20240408T120000/>.
My apologies for the short notice.

It would be a big help if you would review the project description
referenced in the agenda
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/19kJWkF2IrWYAwg3s3VN_e7irCh_7AFUSMfGhNGkeTmA/edit>.
For my part, I've written out the three updates that I was intending to
share on the call:

      Update on support for Firefox & NVDA

Support has landed! <https://github.com/w3c/aria-at-app/pull/950>
However, there remains an unresolved issue with key presses in NVDA.
We've reported the problem and made some inroads in its diagnosis
<https://github.com/Prime-Access-Consulting/nvda-at-automation/issues/49>.
However, because this extends beyond Bocoup's area of expertise, we've
paused further research until the project priorities make it appropriate
for us to continue.

      Update on support for Chrome & VoiceOver

We are on-boarding another developer to validate some of the work that Z
Goddard had previously been leading. Once that is shored up and
documented, we will be attempting to run it in the GitHub Actions
environment. GitHub's deployment of macOS may have subtle differences
with the ones we've been using to develop the automation solution, so
it's tough to predict any subsequent hurdles. Once we clear those,
though, we have a straightforward path to integration with ARIA-AT App
(i.e. about one day of effort) thanks to the existing support for NVDA
and Chrome.

      Update on enhanced status reporting

We are working to make it easier for ARIA-AT App users to understand
what the results-collection system is up to. To follow and/or
participate in the design and implementation, check out these issues:

  * UI design <https://github.com/w3c/aria-at-app/issues/820>
  * Protocol design <https://github.com/w3c/aria-at-app/issues/818>
  * Implementation
    <https://github.com/w3c/aria-at-automation-harness/pull/47>

That's all!

Mike
