This relates to action-175. The general process we would need to following for registering application/widget as a new Internet media type is documented here: http://www.w3.org/2002/06/registering-mediatype.html In a nutshell, what we would need to do is: 1. Write up and include within the "Widgets 1.0: Packaging and Configuration" spec itself a section that defines the application/widget media type, following the procedures in RFC 4288 and, more specifically, the template in section 10 of RFC 4288. 2. At some point when the spec is at a reasonable level of stability (e.g., at CR or at the time it first goes to LC), e-mail a plain-text version of the application/widget draft definition/proposal to ietf-types@iana.org, then respond to any comments we get there, and wait for the proposal to come up on the IAB agenda and to either be approved or rejected. That's it. --Mike -- Michael(tm) Smith http://people.w3.org/mike/ http://sideshowbarker.net/
