This is a response to Bert Bos' review [1] of the Widgets 1.0 Requirements document [2]. > R15. Visual Rendering Dimensions and Initial Position > > COMMENT 16) Can this information conflict with information in the UIDL? > And if so, what happens? This might be better handled in the Widgets 1.0 spec and not in the requirements document. > COMMENT 17) It should be a requirement that the user always has the > final say. When the widget is displayed by a tiling window manager, > e.g., the position and size may not be what the widget writer wanted. This also might be better handled in the Widgets 1.0 spec. We are currently hashing out the processing model for widgets so I assume we will address this issue there. -- Marcos Caceres http://datadriven.com.au [1] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-appformats/2007Feb/0131.html [2] http://www.w3.org/TR/2007/WD-widgets-reqs-20070209/
