RE: This Thursday (30th): Call with Publishing Maintenance WG

Further to my last email, we do have a specific technical requirement, and
some context, from the accessibility people in the Publishing Maintenance WG
- your input on this in Wednesday's APA call would be appreciated. The ask
is:

"The main requirement from PMWG is to work out a solution for
programmatically identifying the extended descriptions, I.E. some way to
provide the semantic information for extended descriptions.

The following document explains the use cases from publishing community and
nails down the problem statement. ...

<https://github.com/w3c/epub-specs/wiki/Standardizing-Extended-Descriptions:
-User-Stories,-Testing-Results,-and-Current-Limitations/>
"

Please check it out before the APA call on Wednesday so we can plan our
contribution in this area; thanks!

link will be included on the APA invite for this Wednesday.

Best regards,

Matthew

Subject: This Thursday (30th): Call with Publishing Maintenance WG

Hi all,

We are having our TPAC call with the Publishing Maintenance WG (which
maintains the ePub standard) this Thursday, during their call time. You have
all been invited to the meeting [1]. I have just updated it with the
proposed agenda from APA (repeated below for your convenience).

On Wednesday's call we'll remind everyone about this. If you have
thoughts/requirements you'd like to discuss around the next major revision
of the ePub standard, please let us know on this thread, or on Wednesday's
call.

Proposed agenda for Thursday's call with Publishing Maintenance WG:

* Updates on APA work relevant to publishing:
  - Pronunciation
  - AAC Symbols
* Requirements for ePub-next (from APA, and from the PM group)

Please note: I will be sending the calendar invite for the APA call on
Wednesday later today.

Best regards,

Matthew
