Colleagues: This is a Call for Consensus (CfC) to the Accessible Platform Architectures (APA) Working Group inquiring whether we have APA consensus to take a WG position with the Web of Things (WoT) Working Group on two proposed WoT Use Cases in accordance with [1]APA Consensus Policy: Unified Smart Home Control and Status Interface https://github.com/w3c/wot-usecases/blob/master/USE-CASES/mmi-1-2_unified-smart-home-control-and-status.md Audiovisual Devices Acting as Smartphone Extensions https://github.com/w3c/wot-usecases/blob/master/USE-CASES/mmi-1-1_audiovisual-devices-as-smartphone-extensions.md Because the WoT survey expires Friday 26 June, We have taken a provisional position on the above two use cases. This CfC will either confirm or reject that position. Both the RQTF and APA teleconferences this past week agreed with this position which simply regards the above two use cases as critical for accessibility as minuted here: RQTF: http://www.w3.org/2020/06/24-rqtf-minutes.html APA: https://www.w3.org/2020/06/24-apa-minutes.html#item02 Therefore the formal question in this CfC per [1]APA Consensus Policy: Do you agree the above referenced WoT Use Cases are critical for accessibility? ***Action to Take*** This CfC is now open for objection, comment, as well as statements of support via email. Silence will be interpreted as support, though messages of support are certainly welcome. If you object to this proposed action, or have comments concerning this proposal, please respond by replying on list to this message no later than 23:59 (Midnight) Boston Time, Wednesday 1 July. NOTE: This Call for Consensus is being conducted in accordance with the APA Decision Policy published at: [1] http://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/decision-policy Janina & Becky APA Co-Chairs -- Janina Sajka https://linkedin.com/in/jsajka Linux Foundation Fellow Executive Chair, Accessibility Workgroup: http://a11y.org The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Co-Chair, Accessible Platform Architectures http://www.w3.org/wai/apa
