order of data model tests

How does the runner.js (i.e., the test harness) determine the order in which it runs tests? I'm guessing that it is alpha order based on folder name and then on file name, but in case there were anyway to control, I thought I'd asked.  Ideally it would be nice if validation tests ran before the optional / implementation checking tests. But not really a significant concern.
