Groups Feature @ Hypothes.is

Hi all,

I wanted to share a new feature that we've added to the open source `h`
project that runs behind http://hypothes.is/

This new feature enables users to annotate together in private groups. This
is the first in a series of releases that will evolve and extend the
Groups functionality
over the next year, based on feedback we receive.

Groups v1 Highlights:

As a group member you are able to do the following things.

What: Annotate any web resource privately within the group.
How: Choose a group name in the View Control, then annotate in the usual
way.

What: Restrict the annotations shown for a web resource to only those
belonging to the group.
How: Choose a group name in the View Control

What: Invite anyone to join the group.
How: Capture the group’s URL, available on the Group Landing Page, and
transmit it by email or chat.

Check out the announcement post on the Hypothes.is Blog for more
information:

We hope the feature will help enable new use cases for annotation and
provide valuable input into the Web Annotation Data Model, the protocol,
and future distributed annotation use cases.

Thanks!
Benjamin
