Hi all, and sorry for being late with this introduction and for not being in the call yesterday. I am yet another Hypothes.is developer. I just finished a summer internship there, where among other things I made a start with offering annotations in the (draft) Open Annotation data model, in json-ld. I am interested in the technical aspects of web annotation, and in particular see a nice challenge in designing a distributed semantic web architecture, which the current ideas seem to point towards. Rather than textual, human-readable annotations, I am largely thinking about use cases involving 'semantic annotations'. For example, having a 'correction' annotation could turn the web into a kind of distributed wiki, in which you can let others' edits to documents you read be applied automatically. I am currently based in Helsinki (Finland), where I study machine learning. Kind regards, Gerben
