Thank you all for chipping in with discussions and points of view * I may not be able to follow every thread as I try to concentrate on producing vocabularies and diagrams and the working tools This quick note is to remind CG participants that, it goes without saying, constructive feedback is welcome Critiques, conceptual and terminological refinement, suggestions for new terms and concepts, diagrams that illustrate different points of view etc *provided these relate to KR as symbolic, natural language representation, are invited. Please use the wiki and editable docs, or pin here. New directions may require more justificant than cataloguing established ones, which are well documented in the history of AI and literature etc so please give examples if you have something in mind that has not been heard before. I do not understand much about the execution layer in relation to the KR * discussed in a separate thread Use cases, demos etc could help to explore and understand new directions, The thread below, dated 2009 points to the fact that the same discussions have been going on for decades. Together with the links it contains, and related threads it makes a good long read http://ontolog.cim3.net/forum/ontolog-forum/2009-05/msg00133.html Before 2009, equivalent discussions took place on different forums, conferences etc. Participants in such discussions noted that we have been going around in circles for decades with limited progress on certain topics Throughout history there have been trends to obfuscate what is, and to propagate what is not, to create hype etc Especially in science and technology It is only because of the open web that we can hope to see through the chaos, and continue to elucidate our thinking I am glad that some of us are still around to test AI in the browser, fifty years later. KR can help us navigate the maze and maintain orientation at this time of rapid changes, this is why it can be useful to map Through the systematic mapping of KR we can understand AI, and other aspects of our world perhaps.
