Invitation to Co-Shape a 3-D Standard for AI Knowledge — Collaboration Opportunity with K3D

Dear AI KR Community Group colleagues,

I’m *Daniel Campos Ramos*, founder of *EchoSystems* and lead maintainer 
of the open‑source *K3D (Knowledge 3‑D)* project. Our teams share the 
same north‑star: to make AI knowledge easier to specify, exchange, and 
reuse. I’m reaching out to invite the AI KR Community Group to 
collaborate on turning K3D into a W3C‑aligned standard.

      Why this matters to AI KR

AI KR Priority  How K3D advances it
Rich, reusable vocabularies  K3D links plain‑language terms to formally 
typed nodes, making ontologies explorable by humans /and/ machines.
Facets & provenance  Each K3D node carries first‑class metadata 
(technology, legislation, ethics, etc.)—a perfect companion for your 
“resources & metadata” track.
Open implementations  Reference code (MIT license) for vector DB 
storage, REST/Graph APIs, and a 3‑D browser UI—ready for chat bot/NLU 
pipelines.
Public awareness & learning  A spatial interface lets students /fly 
through/ concept maps instead of paging through PDFs, boosting 
engagement and comprehension.

      What collaboration could look like

 1.

    *Spec alignment workshops* – Map K3D‑Node attributes to the AI KR
    vocabulary and agree on extension points.

 2.

    *Joint concept‑map pilot* – Build a shared “AI Ethics & Governance”
    space illustrating multi‑facet nodes (policy, datasets, case studies).

 3.

    *Open review cycle* – Publish a draft W3C Community Group Note
    co‑authored by AI KR & EchoSystems contributors.

 4.

    *Community demo day* – Showcase live K3D spaces at an upcoming AI KR
    meeting to gather feedback and recruit maintainers.
