Use of AI to document and catalogue in a structured way all AI activities worldwide

I wonder if any efforts have been made to utilize AI to document, catalogue and generate overviews of research literature, academic, non-profit and corporate fundamental and applied research on AI, all publications, conferences, AI institutes etc.
The global dialogue on AI is becoming a Babelian confusion, and in particular on NLP and machine (deep) learning.
