Re: Mission statement Milton Ponson First let me say that this is a great draft. Now let me, gently, pressure you for more. Perhaps its my naiveté or just plain lack of understanding (I will - however reluctantly - admit to either or both ) but I need clarification. To that aim - I did several things to your task list to make it easier for me to understand and explain. 1- I added paragraph numbers 2- every time I saw a list I expanded my numbering (Harvard style numbering) to enumerate that list 3- my questions/comments are bounded by << & >> <<like this>> (1) Create a topic map of AI and KR, <<why the seperation? are you proposing that we meta map KR>> <<vague (ok vague to me)- topic map. did you mean: (1a)ISO 13250? (1b)XTM - http://www.topicmaps.org/xtm/1.0/ (1c) HyTM (1d) RDF OR (1e) other? >> and based on this topic map: (2) Create a structured overview of: (2a) standards bodies and (2b) international organizations <<is this not a varient of a stakeholders map?>> that focus on knowledge representation in particular, <<IE limited to our focus? I know this looks like an "oh duh" statement but given you separated AI from KR I needed to ask>> to contribute to the: (2a) standardization, (2b) harmonization, (2c) interchangeability <<I look at interchangeability as redundancy. So, please elaborate, for me, on how you view this>> and (2d) uniform <<MUST be uniform? please define your usage>> application of (2d1) KR definitions and (2d2) concepts in: (2d2a) platforms and software, (2d2b) hardware and firmware implementations for AI; (3) Create a concept map for AI; <<what do you see as a difference between concept maps and topic maps (Paola's question)>> (4) Since the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for an open and inclusive science approach that is evidence based and data driven, create outlines and proposals that focus on: (4a) the ethical use of AI in achieving the SDGs, and (4b) the use of AI in the creation of: (4b1) ontologies and (4b2) ontology alignment <<please elaborate>> for: (4b1) (big) data mining and (4b2) the use of indicators for sustainable development, and (5) Stimulate the discussion in the W3 AIKR CG on what theories and technologies are best suited for: (5a) KR in AI for reasoning/information processing and (5b) decision-making (EU AI Expert WG AI definition diagram) << I could not find a good definition of [EU AI Expert WG AI definition diagram]. would you provide a link please?>> Thanks PAUL ALAGNA PJAlagna@Gmail.com <mailto:PJAlagna@Gmail.com> > On Jan 13, 2020, at 12:48 PM, ProjectParadigm-ICT-Program <metadataportals@yahoo.com> wrote: > > As requested by Paola, here it is. > > (1) Create a topic map of AI and KR, and based on this topic map: > (2) Create a structured overview of standards bodies and international organizations that focus on knowledge representation in particular, to contribute to the standardization, harmonization, interchangeability and uniform application of KR definitions and concepts in platforms and software, hardware and firmware implementations for AI; > (3) Create a concept map for AI; > (4) Since the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for an open and inclusive science approach that is evidence based and data driven, create outlines and proposals that focus on the ethical use of AI in achieving the SDGs, and the use of AI in the creation of ontologies and ontology alignment for (big) data mining and the use of indicators for sustainable development, and > (5) Stimulate the discussion in the W3 AIKR CG on what theories and technologies are best suited for KR in AI for reasoning/information processing and decision-making (EU AI Expert WG AI definition diagram) > > > Milton Ponson > GSM: +297 747 8280 > PO Box 1154, Oranjestad > Aruba, Dutch Caribbean > Project Paradigm: Bringing the ICT tools for sustainable development to all stakeholders worldwide through collaborative research on applied mathematics, advanced modeling, software and standards development
