Please look at the links I provided. Ian is indeed correct noting that Interest Groups don’t develop specifications for the W3C Recommendation track - that’s what Working Groups are for. Community Groups on the other hand can provide a forum for incubating specifications prior to transfer to a Working Group. The W3C Process and Patent Policy sets out more details, see: https://www.w3.org/Consortium/Patent-Policy-20170801/ <https://www.w3.org/Consortium/Patent-Policy-20170801/> https://www.w3.org/community/about/agreements/summary/ <https://www.w3.org/community/about/agreements/summary/> > On 24 Nov 2019, at 07:29, Paola Di Maio <paoladimaio10@gmail.com> wrote: > > Thanks- > Dave, is there a page with all these rules? > what you mention seems to differ a bit from what Ian Jackobs shared a few months ago - > > On Sun, Nov 24, 2019 at 3:04 AM Amirouche Boubekki <amirouche.boubekki@gmail.com <mailto:amirouche.boubekki@gmail.com>> wrote: > Since I am not a W3C member I don't know how to join the interest group. > > Le sam. 23 nov. 2019 à 11:47, Dave Raggett <dsr@w3.org <mailto:dsr@w3.org>> a écrit : > > > > As background: > > > > W3C Community Groups are free for anyone to join. > > W3C Interest Groups are free for W3C Members to join. > > > > W3C Interest Groups and Working Groups have attached W3C staff contacts and access to a wider set of resources than Community Groups, see: > > > > https://www.w3.org/2019/Process-20190301/#GroupsWG <https://www.w3.org/2019/Process-20190301/#GroupsWG> > > https://www.w3.org/Consortium/membership.html <https://www.w3.org/Consortium/membership.html> > > https://www.w3.org/Consortium/fees <https://www.w3.org/Consortium/fees> > > > > On 23 Nov 2019, at 02:32, Paola Di Maio <paola.dimaio@gmail.com <mailto:paola.dimaio@gmail.com>> wrote: > > > > Greetings folks > > > > according to Ian at W3C, the main difference between between a CG and an IG is > > > > Community Groups often produce specifications (called Community Group Reports).
