The goals of the winners of the Knight Foundation's AI/news challenge are now available in StratML format at http://stratml.us/drybridge/index.htm#AINOC
U.S. federal agency compliance with the new OPEN Government Data Act (OGDA) would be highly supportive of these goals:
Goal 4: Government Documents - Sift through massive government document dumps.
OGDA requires agencies to make their records open by default, using schemas specified by SDOs. http://stratml.us/references/HR4174.htm#schema_standards & http://stratml.us/references/HR4174.htm#SDOs
Goal 5: Government Contracts - Extract structured data from government contracts.
Government contracts are among the records that should be ascribed high-priority for rendition in standard schema-compliant format. http://stratml.us/references/HR4174.htm#priority_for_disclosure
The Knight Foundation and the W3C should assist and hold agencies accountable for complying with their OGDA obligations.

AI and the News Open Challenge!
Seven projects today are receiving $750,000 to explore and shape the impact that artificial intelligence is having on the field of news and information.The projects will tackle a variety of problems, including:
- Confronting bad actors spreading misinformation through messaging platforms;
- Equipping journalists with the technology they need to quickly sift through reams of information;
- Tackling emerging threats posed by AI-generated fakes, and more.
The challenge is a project of the Ethics and Governance of AI Initiative, funded in part by Knight Foundation.
