C4DI AI Strategy for the U.S.

The goals and objectives set forth in the Center for Data Innovation’s (C4DI) proposed AI strategy for the U.S. are now available in StratML format at http://stratml.us/drybridge/index.htm#C4DINAIS

These objectives are closely related to the purposes of the StratML standard:

Objective 2.1.7.1: <http://stratml.us/carmel/iso/C4DINAISwStyle.xml#_4751ec6e-1827-11e9-8fa1-8a76d5e8efbc> Performance & Safety Standards - Publish performance and safety standards for various key military AI applications

Performance should be reported in an open, standard, machine-readable format, as ostensibly required of U.S. federal agencies by section 10 of the GPRA Modernization Act. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/open-machine-readable-government-owen-ambur/

Objective 3.1: <http://stratml.us/carmel/iso/C4DINAISwStyle.xml#_475211ee-1827-11e9-8fa1-8a76d5e8efbc> Sector Strategies - Create strategies for supporting AI adoption in relevant sectors

Such strategies should be documented and shared in an open, standard, machine-readable format, leveraging the stratml:Relationship elements <http://stratml.us/references/oxygen/PerformancePlanOrReport20160216_xsd.htm#Relationship> to enable synergistic strategic alignment across plans, organizations, and sectors.

Objective 5.1: <http://stratml.us/carmel/iso/C4DINAISwStyle.xml#_47523fe8-1827-11e9-8fa1-8a76d5e8efbc> Accountability - Encourage adherence to the principle of algorithmic accountability

Lacking performance metrics shared in a readily usable format, the concept of “accountability” is pretty meaningless. Anyone’s preconceived biases are as good as anyone else’s.

BTW, perhaps I may be wrong but it seems to me that attempting to constrain AI by geopolitical boundaries is not only artificially ignorant <https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/artificial-ignorance-owen-ambur/> but, ultimately, also an exercise in futility.
