DARPA has issued a request for research proposals on the physics of AI. The goal and objectives of the request are available in StratML format at http://stratml.us/drybridge/index.htm#DARPAPAI or, more specifically, http://stratml.us/carmel/iso/DARPAPAIwStyle.xml With reference to the value they place upon hybridization, it seems likely: a. the most effective approaches will involve *augmented* rather than merely “artificial” intelligence per se; b. AI agents will be more capable of assisting us if we address them in an open, standard, machine-readable data format; c. it would be naturally intelligent for us to do so; and d. it would be wise to require AI agents to report their intentions (design functions), actions (processes), and results (outputs) in a format that is human as well as machine-readable, like StratML. Just some thoughts, for whatever they might be worth.
