When providing sign language alternatives for content, which version of the sign language should you use? Even within the UK we have 2 sign languages, British Sign Language or Makaton but if we serve an international audience do we need to vary it based on location? i.e. ASL for the US, Auslan for Australia, BSL for Britain. British Sign Language is the more common sign language, however Makaton is a more simplified version which has the same grammatical structure as spoken English. It would be good to get some clarification on this.
