Meeting Summary – AI Agent Protocol CG (2026-08-26)

Dear all,

Apologies for the slight delay in sharing the meeting summary.

The minutes from the AI Agent Protocol CG meeting held on August 26,
2026, have now been compiled. Please review them at the link below and
feel free to provide any feedback:

Meeting minutes:
https://github.com/w3c-cg/ai-agent-protocol/blob/main/meetings/2026-08-26.md

This meeting focused on pull request #45, which splits Agent Identity
out of protocol.html into three companion documents: a common HTTP
authentication specification, DID-method binding profiles for did:wba,
native did:web, and did:webvh, and a standalone did:wba method
specification. Sean presented a 10-minute talk and FAQ on that
architecture. The DID method name is treated as authoritative, with no
fallback after a failed resolution. The presentation slides are
attached to this email.

Song also reported on 3GPP CT WG3 activity during the same week,
including a DID-based Agentic Network proposal for 6G, and shared 3GPP
Highlights Issue 12. That newsletter’s article “AI and Agentic
Protocols for 6G” describes ANP as an open-source protocol introduced
at a W3C WebAgents CG conference, with a three-layer architecture
covering identity and secure communication, a meta-protocol, and
application-level agent description and discovery.

We welcome review comments on PR #45, and any comments on the minutes
or on the topics discussed.
