Dear WebAgents Community Members,
Hello!
My name is Gaowei Chang, and I’m one of the co-chairs of the newly formed AI
Agent Protocol Community Group <https://www.w3.org/groups/cg/agentprotocol/>
at W3C, alongside Song Xu. I am also the initiator of the open-source Agent
Network Protocol
<https://github.com/agent-network-protocol/AgentNetworkProtocol> (ANP). A
few months ago, I had the opportunity to present ANP to the WebAgents CG —
thank you again for the warm reception at that time.
Our new CG is focused on the design and standardization of protocols
between AI agents. The goal is to develop secure, interoperable, and
scalable mechanisms to support agent communication and collaboration on the
Web — particularly as intelligent agents become first-class participants in
Web ecosystems.
While our focus areas may differ slightly, we see a lot of synergy between
our two groups. Topics such as agent discovery, identity, interaction
protocols, and metadata modeling are highly relevant to both communities.
We would love to explore avenues for collaboration, to avoid duplication
and ensure that the Web benefits from a harmonized approach to agent
interoperability. We welcome any opportunity to coordinate and exchange
ideas with the WebAgents CG, and we’re open to participating in joint
discussions or sessions.
Looking forward to connecting soon!
*Best regards*,
Gaowei Chang
