Dear all, Apologies for the slight delay in sharing the meeting summary. The minutes from the *AI Agent Protocol CG meeting held on December 17, 2025* have now been compiled. Please review them at the link below and feel free to provide any feedback: Meeting minutes: https://github.com/w3c-cg/ai-agent-protocol/blob/main/meetings/2025-12-17.md This meeting was the final meeting of the year and focused primarily on *agent authentication and cross-platform identity mechanisms*. Sean presented a requirements-driven framework for agent identity, emphasizing the separation of authentication from authorization, the use of cryptographic identities, support for both automated and human-authenticated signatures, and enabling cross-platform interoperability while preserving user and agent privacy. George expressed appreciation for the requirements-based approach, while suggesting that implementation options should not be limited to Web DIDs alone. He encouraged the group to also consider alternatives such as client attestation and client ID metadata, and highlighted the tension between ephemeral identifiers and compliance requirements, particularly in regulated domains like financial services. The discussion further explored *agent trust dynamics*, including the distinction between instance identifiers and class identifiers. The group discussed scenarios such as repeat transactions, where agents or users may prefer more stable identifiers, while still retaining privacy controls. On security topics, Roy raised questions about public-private key cryptographic standards and mutual authentication. Sean confirmed that mutual authentication is essential to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks and to ensure secure agent-to-agent transactions. Regarding the GitHub pull request, the group agreed to keep it open through early January to allow for further review. Sean will add additional diagrams, flow charts, and tables to improve clarity, readability, and consistency with other sections of the specification. For reference, the previous meeting minutes (November 5, 2025) are available here: https://github.com/w3c-cg/ai-agent-protocol/blob/main/meetings/2025-11-05.md The next meeting is planned for *January 14, 2026*. Further details and the agenda will be shared closer to the date. Thank you all for your continued contributions throughout the year, and best wishes for the holiday season. Best regards, Song and Gaowei
