Re: Planning to close Accessibility for Children Community Group due to inactivity unless we hear from you

Hi Maud and all,

I similarly have been caught in the headwinds of early parenthood. I do still think this is very important work, and know just how much energy it requires to keep this kind of group going.

I don't know that I can give much time in the coming months. But if there are concrete tasks to take on, I would try to help with that (i know that's not the most useful right now!)

Best,
Emeline

Dear Maud and the team,

Thank you for the emails and for the reminder about the group's status.

I truly believe this group is very important, and it would be a real shame to see it close. I definitely want to be part of its 'second life.'

To be honest, I have been quite inactive for some time now. Balancing work and family during my child’s first years has been a real challenge, but I am very interested in helping to reactivate our work.

For the next few months, I can probably only support the group from the sidelines, but I expect to be more active again soon. In the meantime, is there any small task or specific area where I could help? I would like to contribute as much as my current schedule allows.

Please count me in.

Best regards,

Fátima Baña

Dear participants of the Accessibility for Children Community Group,

I understand you have a lot of work at the moment, but, as you probably
noticed, our community group is about to close due to inactive status.
The group has been very active for a few years, and it was a pleasure
for me to meet and collaborate with you.
The work of the W3C Accessibility for Children Community Group remains a
unique and vital initiative in the field of inclusive design.
As accessibility for children continues to be an area with significant
unmet needs, there is a valuable opportunity to rekindle this group’s
efforts
and build on its foundational work.
I would be delighted to exchange best practices, collaborate on new
ideas, or explore ways to give this important topic a second life.
Whether through renewed discussions, updated guidelines, or fresh
community engagement, there is much we can achieve together.
Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are interested in
contributing, sharing insights, or helping to revitalize this
community’s mission.

Looking forward to your thoughts and ideas!
Best regards,
Maud
