Hello everyone,
Thank you all for joining the Agent-to-Web Framework Community Group.
With *twelve participants* from five organizations, we now have enough
substance on the list to start serious work.
I am writing today with two items:
I worked the last few weeks on the W3C CG specification draft.
1. *THE SPECIFICATION DRAFT IS NOW LIVE*
The first draft of the A2WF specification, published as a W3C Community
Group Report, is now available at:
https://a2wf.github.io/spec/
The canonical source repository is at:
https://github.com/a2wf/spec
In short, the specification defines:
* a discovery file (siteai.json) that a website serves at its root,
declaring what AI agents may do on the site and how;
* a small set of HTTP level conventions that let AI agents identify
themselves, find that policy, and interact with the site predictably;
* a vocabulary that allows site operators to express granular
permissions, machine-readable endpoints, and provenance signals.
The intent is to give site operators a clear, standardized lever over
AI agent traffic at the permission and interaction layer analogous
to what robots.txt provides at the indexing layer, but focused on what
agents are allowed to do once they arrive.
How you can help right now:
* read the spec when your schedule allows;
* open issues at https://github.com/a2wf/spec/issues for anything
that should change terminology, scope, security, conformance,
edge cases, or things that are simply unclear;
* open pull requests for concrete fixes or proposed text.
This is the right moment for substantive critique. The draft is
intended as a working document, not as a finished proposal.
2. *KICKOFF CALL, proposed for WEDNESDAY, 27 MAY 2026*
I would like to hold a one-hour kickoff call about four weeks from now,
giving everyone time to read the spec and to file issues first.
Proposed slot:
*Wednesday, 13th May 2026 17:00–18:00 CEST / 11:00–12:00 EDT /
08:00–09:00 PDT*
As we have people from Europe and United States I hope this times are
somehow acceptable for everyone.
Tool: Google Meet (no account required to join).
A meeting link will be circulated a few days before the call.
Agenda:
* brief introduction to the specification (~10 minutes)
* walk-through and discussion of the issues raised on GitHub
* agreement on the next milestones for the group
If this slot does not work for you, please reply on-list with your
constraints and I will try to find a better window. If the proposed
slot suits enough people, I will confirm it next week.
Thanks for being part of this.
Kind regards,
Wolfgang Wimmer
