ITU COMMENT ON ICANN REFORM
The
PSO had originally been set up because ICANN wanted to take advantage
of
getting technical advice from a wide cross section of standards bodies.
The
view of the ITU is that the PSO is serving a useful purpose but if it
is to
be discontinued under the ICANN reform then ICANN should recognise the
value
of their relationship with the ITU (and the other PSO
standards
organisations) and should find in any new organisation a way for
this
relationship to continue.
