>>All models using PNG transparent textures seems to be too dark and >> not lighted at all. >MM sounds strange, >if its a PNG texture with ALPHA channeld and you have Material with >transparency >Contact modulates with both Alphas. ...which is incorrect: In fact, Contact's support for PNG textures in general and transparency in particular is really quite bad, despite at least two or three detailed bug reports in the last three years. (And if anything, it's getting worse.) See this page for details: Even Cortona--no whiz in spec-compliance, either--is way ahead on this score. But the development priorities for both browsers seem to be almost exclusively centered around whizzy, next-generation, proprietary features rather than boring stuff like interoperability and adherence to a three- year-old international standard. Trying to write good, portable VRML for the Three Cs is almost as frustrating as trying to write good, portable HTML 4.0 and CSS code for the Big Two web browsers... --- GoldED/386 2.42.G0614+ * Origin: Everything goes the bach runter ... * http://shopping-www.net * http://shopping-www.org
