try adding a slash '/' after ~wendy.. like: http://server/~wendy/ the browser probably doesnt realize that it is within a subdirectory. This can be cause by the server not redirecting the original URL to a slash terminated on or to the actual file.. Redirect http://server/~wendy to: either 1) http://server/~wendy/ 2) http://server/~wendy/index.html > -----Original Message----- > From: wendy@cs.ualberta.ca [mailto:wendy@cs.ualberta.ca] > Sent: Thursday, September 24, 1998 9:29 AM > To: http-wg@hplb.hpl.hp.com > Cc: wendy@cs.ualberta.ca > Subject: Full URL if Proxy ? > > > HI, has anyone encounter the following problem: > > I run netscape as the client browser talking to an apache web server. > In between them there is a proxy server sitting on the client > machine.
