Network Computing has an article in the current issue about
Applications Performance Measurement, with lots of talk about the

The article is written by the author of the following draft, which is
being discussed in the RMONMIB WG:

This memo defines a portion of the Management Information Base
(MIB) for use with network management protocols in TCP/IP-
based internets. In particular, it defines objects for
measuring the application performance as experienced by end-
users.
Applications folks may want to follow this.
