Of course, as an active participant in the design process I am somewhat biased, but my experience has been that participation and interest has been high. I suspect that the Oslo meeting was anomolous as a result of summer, distance, time and cost. More representative was the recent Minneapolis Delta-V BOF (did you have the opportunity to attend?). At that meeting there were many interested parties and several people offering to join the design/review efforts. In addition, there were a number of people I talked to who said that their companies were actively implementing WebDAV. For these people, the existence of Delta-V is essential to creating an open standard and allowing their efforts to be effective. The current core of active participants represent many of the major players in VCM systems and in fact, current and potential implementors of the WebDAV standard. Without a forum for the versioning work, I suspect that this interest and the corresponding efforts would be greatly diminished leaving WebDAV without a "V". I hope that this message (and the others you will surely receive) provides you with sufficient assurances to push forward with the Delta-V working group proposal. Sincerely, Jeff McAffer
