I have set up this mailing list to provide communication between members of the Caching subgroup of the HTTP Working Group. The mailing list is "http-caching@pa.dec.com". Requests for changes to the mailing list should be sent to "http-caching-request@pa.dec.com". (But let's please try to keep the membership relatively small.) If you have trouble sending mail to the list, please let me know. The current membership is: mogul@pa.dec.com (Jeff Mogul) fielding@avron.ICS.UCI.EDU (Roy T. Fielding) luotonen@netscape.com (Ari Luotonen) dwm@shell.portal.com (David W. Morris) jg@w3.org (Jim Gettys) sjk@amazon.com (Shel Kaphan) szilles@mv.us.adobe.com (Steve Zilles) masinter@parc.xerox.com (Larry Masinter) koen@win.tue.nl (Koen Holtman) weihl@pa.dec.com (Bill Weihl) connolly@beach.w3.org (Daniel W. Connolly) luigi@labinfo.iet.unipi.it (Luigi Rizzo) martin@mrrl.lut.ac.uk (Martin Hamilton) alopez-o@barrow.uwaterloo.ca (Alex Lopez-Ortiz) paulle@microsoft.com (Paul Leach) montulli@mozilla.com (Lou Montulli) I expect a few additional members will sign up. All messages sent to the list are also appended to an archive, which I will happily send to any subgroup member who asks nicely. However, due to our rather complex firewall setup, I'm not going to provide an externally visible mirror of the archive; sorry. I will also (probably on Monday) send out a draft list of "goals" and "issues", both those that are apparently agreed upon and those for which we may not yet have agreement, in order to help focus the discussion. If you have suggestions for this list, you can either send them to me immediately, or wait until I send out my list and then complain about what I got wrong. In either case, I would appreciate a concise, self-contained, and relatively unemotional summary of the issue(s) that you want addressed. -Jeff
