RE: Table question

Ginger,

Why is the resize button ok for screen reader users (who most often use only a keyboard) and not so for keyboard only users?

Is it because the resize feature cannot be reached using the TAB key, but can be focused using quick navigation keys provided by the screen reader?

If so, this is a failure of 2.4.3 rather than 2.1.1 in my view given that the resize feature can be activated once it is focused.

or have I misunderstood the issue you describe?

Cheers,
Adam

Subject: Table question

Good Evening,

I have a question regarding tables we encountered and I am not 100% sure how to mark them.

The table is rather wide and one can only see the first three to four columns (depending on screen size and magnification) and for each other column one has to click a resize button via mouse in order to expand the column to its full width.

The resize element is only reachable via mouse.

For a screen reader user this is not a probelm at all, however, a keyboard only user is facing severe issues here.

My question now, can I mark this as SC2.1.1 fail?

Solong and thx

Ps.: In case someone has experienced such a table which is keyboard operable I would appreciate if I recieve a link to the respective website.
