What pure IBM islands are we ignoring?

IBM mainframes ... (not AIX, the other kind) no clue nowadays what they use
for email or even text nowadays.
But back when I worked for IBM it wasn't SMTP or ascii  ... and they
certainly didn't have java.

Maybe they are all posix/tcp-ip compatible now ... too many years since I've
touched one :)
