This made good reading. A comprehensive survey of the 
"Intermediary" design problem seems to be in order and will help 
frame the discussion. One thing to be suggested for the future 
would be a discussion of the XP fault processing model in the 
context of intermediaries, perhaps under the "Intermediary Related 
Issues..." heading. Exactly how should (app layer) faults be 
propagated back to the client in these situations? Will the 
mechanism be very much like SOAP 1.1? etc.
