DXYZ123: meaningful subject lines?

My mailbox has just filled up dozens of very interesting messages hidden
behind very boring subject lines (D12FOO etc). Can I make a plea for the
use of meaningful subject descriptions in these messages? It'll make it a lot
easier for those of us without photographic memory to follow what's going
on.
