running your example through xep I'm getting too many errors?

What engine are you using Mark?

 (format
    (sequence [master-reference prefaceMaster]
      (flow
        [error] com.renderx.xep.cmp.NoPageMasterException: state:
first filled odd
      )


writing-mode="from-page-master-region()"
reference-orientation="from-page-master-region()"

are both showing as errors?
