How to make "next" or <choice> SRGS compliant

In VXML 2.0 http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/REC-voicexml20-20040316/ section 2.2.2
choice element, <choice> contains a next attribute that is "The URI of next
dialog or document".  How can the "next" functionality be used in SRGS XML
version?

For example, <choice> can be translated into an inline grammar by using
<grammar><rule><one-of><item> to be compliant with SRGS.  However, once an
item is matched how does SRGS handle or perform the "next" functionality,
similar to what "next" of <choice> would do?
