WHere does local validator put temp files?

In the installation instruction it says

If you want to relocate that folder, change the line

    file_cache_dir => File::Spec->catdir(File::Spec->tmpdir(), 'validator'),
to

    file_cache_dir => 'C:/temp/validator',
---

I can't find that line in the 'check' file

Where does validator build its output files?
