If that is the problem, then it's actually Ctrl+Shift+V that will launch 
the validator by default, but those keyboard shortcuts are configurable 
in the Web Developer options.  They don't normally cause any problems. 
However, on the more common US keyboard layout, there are no characters 
entered using such odd key strokes.
