Color declaration and W3 validator

While checking http://rootshell.be/~vidarlo/hogre.html, I see that the 
validator
http://validator.w3.org/ does not report as an error the
color declaration text="#ff12edea", which contains 7 hexadecimal
numbers.

I believe such a declaration should be reported as an error (this is 
currently
not the case).
