Sorry, that kind of programming is over my head.  It would be nice to see the 
validator updated though, as it is essentially useless if I author my pages / 
style sheets to the standards and still can't have them validated.  I realize 
the particular issue that I brought up was resolved fairly recently, but it has 
been about three months now.  I don't know much about the internal structure of 
W3 or who is responsible for this validator, but I think the W3 has a 
responsibility to the development community to provide it, and by provide it I 
mean in a usable form, i.e. validates to the standard expressed in the 
specification.
