In fact, .arpa works for IPV6, using  .ip6.apa.  The point I really wanted to make is that even 'persistent' name spaces like .arpa still need maintenance in order to be persistently available and useful.  One of the tenets of records management is that for records to be maintained, their use and usefulness needs to be maintained, because otherwise, in disuse, other elements of maintenance are neglected.
