The idea that there is a single abstract Resource which is associated 
with each and every URI for all time.

These things don't play any role in concrete network protocols, but they 
do get in the way when (amongst many other things) an interpretation of 
an RDF model needs to assign a different referent as the thing 
identified by the URI.
