But it should. There have been several calls for APIs to be added to vector effects, to get the geometry of merged paths and so on.

So, concrete suggestions on such an API would be welcome.

Oh - I saw that Tab gave a link to an ancient draft - the current editors draft is at:

dev.w3.org/SVG/modules/vectoreffects/master/SVGVectorEffects.html
and
dev.w3.org/cvsweb/SVG/modules/vectoreffects/master/SVGVectorEffectsPrimer.html

There was discussion on this module at the recent f2f but the draft is not yet updated to take that discussion into account.
