Brian Vibber Chief Technical Officer Wikipedia on SVG: Scripts are forbidden for safety, which pretty much destroys animation or interactive features. A 10x or 20x increase in bandwidth (and therefore cost) pretty much demolishes remaining alleged advantages for our purposes for now.
